“Our daughter was moving from Houston to Portland OR. We had a very bad experience with a major moving company when she had moved from Chicago to Houston, and was very uneasy about hiring a moving company again. We talked to several companies and told our story and what we needed. Still skeptical, but needed to get the move going we hired Great Heights Relocation. Our first wonderful surprise came when the movers showed up at the storage place where our daughter’s stuff was stored. What a polite and very professional crew. Her household items were handled with care and you could tell they took pride in their work.

Our next great surprise happened when the truck arrived in Portland. This is where the “other” company decided to take advantage of our daughter and started charging her extras. My husband and I were waiting but these movers were just as polite and professional as the first set were. They unloaded the truck in no time and placed our items where we instructed. There was no talk about anything extra and they went above and beyond to help us with a few of the items. The last surprise was that nothing was broken and none of her furniture was scratched – nice change from the last time she was moved. "My husband and I recently required two moves, one locally, in Houston, and the other, to Maine, where we were buying a house. As our Houston home was not ready and we had yet to close on our Maine property, we would also need storage. The stress of these changes was considerable and was compounded by finding a moving company we could trust. Previous moves, including interstate, had left us angry and sad, with false advertising, damage of valuables, and delays by the moving companies we had chosen. We had largely resigned ourselves to just picking a company and hope our losses or damage might be minimal.

As patrons of local businesses, when possible, we contacted Great Heights Relocation, who offered to do an in house estimate. From the moment I met Jessenya, I sensed that this moving experience might be the one to make up for the others. Her professionalism, friendliness, thoroughness, and concern about our past, negative experiences of movers were impressive. Given our two moves, we wanted to keep our costs to a minimum. Jessenya and Vedra, her associate in the office, worked with us and our anxieties to lower our costs by doing some self packing, while allowing them to pack and crate some of our larger valuables. On moving day, four movers arrived promptly, and without delay, began padding, packing, shrink wrapping, and loading everything in the truck within six hours. We had been promised that our belongings were to be treated as the mover's own. And, it appeared so. As I supervised the packing and moving, with Jessenya, who came to answer any of our questions and concerns, my anxiety melted.

Throughout the storage and moves, I remained in ongoing communication with Jessenya and Vedra, whom I plagued with phone calls, but, who remained good humored, concerned and helpful. The moves into our new homes in Houston and Maine went flawlessly. Freddie, who both drove all the way from Houston to southern Maine, then unloaded the truck, had kept in ongoing touch with me over his three day drive. He arrived in Maine, where I awaited, exactly when he said he would. The boxes and furniture were in the same condition, as when they had left Houston. I was amazed and grateful, given the 2,000 mile trip. In the four loadings and unloadings of our belongings, we had only one broken item, a wine glass, which we had self packed.

I could not offer enough positive evaluation or praise for this company. As a man of a certain age, I have dealt with numerous businesses. I had become jaded by my disappointments and expectations of mediocrity and impersonal treatment. The staff of Great Heights Relocation reminded me that a business, even a moving business, can be surprisingly different. I concluded that the success of our experiences with them lay in their abilities to establish personal working relationships with their clients and among their staff. Would I use their services again and recommend them to friends? Hell, yes! "
